Reasons To Go To Therapy

I’m not depressed or anxious, can I still come to therapy?

Yes!

I’ve worked with so many people, with so many different issues. Obviously, I’m not going to share them, but you definitely don’t have to be depressed or anxious to come to counselling.

You can bring whatever you feel you need to bring to YOUR sessions.

It might be that you’re struggling with your decision making and you need a space to weigh out the pros and cons, away from those friends and family members who have an invested opinion on what choice you should make.

Or perhaps you would like to work on your people pleasing, or maybe you’d like to look at how to say no so that you can stop saying yes to everything when you really don’t have the energy or desire, or maybe you’d like to learn how to put in and maintain boundaries within your relationships so that you can have healthier and more enjoyable ones.

It could be that you feel you have low self-esteem, and you’d like to delve into that, or you’d like to build your confidence.

It doesn’t always have to be related to anxiety and depression or be a diagnosed mental health condition. In fact, coming to therapy to work on some of the issues mentioned above can prevent how you’re feeling from turning into depression or anxiety because if you’re feeling unhappy or agonising over decisions or suffering from low self-esteem for a prolonged period of time, that can lead to low mood or anxiety – but, it doesn’t have to.

You can create a space for yourself instead, with counselling and work through what you’re dealing with.

If you would like to do that, get in touch to find out how we can work together.
